Final Design Review
Final Design Review Presentations
Each team is to present their Final Design Review at the sponsor’s facility during week 10. This presentation is meant to provide the sponsor with in-depth access to the project results, and provide the students the experience of a corporate or research review type presentation. Please coordinate with your sponsor to find a convenient time for the presentation and ask them to invite other members of their organization who have interest in the project, even if they have not followed the project closely (an email describing this presentation was sent to the sponsors, but it is appropriate for the team to coordinate this). Prepare a 15 minute PowerPoint presentation and bring the project hardware. The presentation and meeting should include:
An overview of the problem definition
A review of the key design decisions the team made
A description of the final design
A review of hardware performance
List remaining questions and concerns that need to resolved
Recommendations for the future
A demonstration of the hardware
Presentation Tips
Use the best of your material from presentations throughout the project
Make good use of CAD, photo, and video graphics. Include labels where ever possible.
Do a dry run
Logistics and Discussion Points
All team members should participate in the oral presentation. The name of the team member who is presenting should be written at the bottom of each slide.
Review the project webpage with the sponsor. Ask if there are any aspects the sponsor would like changed; remember the webpage is a reflection of the sponsor as well as the student team.
Ask how the sponsor would like their hardware delivered to them. All hardware needs to be delivered to the sponsor by the end of finals week.
Review the current draft of the final report, and ask the sponsor if there are any additional components they would like included.
Invite the sponsor to the final poster presentations and reserve a parking spot if necessary.
